Am I the only one who misses this? Time has become an especially precious commodity lately thanks to real life since in the span of the last 5 months I lost my last living parent, became a temporary "Momtie" to my 10 year old niece and ended a relationship that I've been in for the past 17 years (all of which I realize may be a massive overshare) and in the midst of all of that I've found myself coming here over the last few days and rereading these stories. Ya'll are all amazing!

Hey,

sorry to hear what you have been through, Dare. I hope that it will get better for you soon.

I also find myself occasionally reading through old stories and thinking about those that I never get to finish. (I know that I have not always been the best contestant)

And as much as I would love to participate or host (I haven't forgotten about Summerfield) time never seems to feel right for me.

Maybe one day... until then I will keep resisting to dive back into all of those beautiful stories.

I appreciate the kind words and offers to chat (and honestly I'm completely okay, things have been a lot to say the least BUT there's also been some quality growth happening too). Also, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one lurking /vendor/beemoov/forum/../../../public/forum/smilies/wink.png

schoggettchen "Summerfield" has a super special place in my heart and it's a story I go back and reread often.

tricole "The Orion Mission" was one of my personal faves and I feel like that could have lasted another round or two easily. I also really loved Crocs vs Tigers, Missy was one of my favorite characters to write.

Zaralee I know exactly what you mean about trying to finish the stories, I'm still annoyed that life got in the way of me completing "Diamonds, Ballrooms, Scandals and Rakes".

NinaJones I greatly appreciate you being willing to host something in the future; your single round fashion contests have been a highlight for me.

fashion-Chic I'm not sure if I ever told you this but you created one of my favorite characters ever in "Kensington Finishing School" so I'm always super excited when you join a contest.

I appreciate all of you and miss seeing what you create (and that goes for EVERYONE who's given something of themselves in this forum because you all have distinct voices and each of you inspires me to be a better host and a better participant).

Dare I'm so glad you liked CvT and Missy, cause I thought she was  awesome, turning out to be anything but prissy. And I want so say, should you ever find yourself with time in abundance, I still sometimes find myself a bit salty that Moriarty Society never came to be. Perhaps it flares with the arrival of Steampunk city too, because as much as I'd love to write the era and genre, I'd also love to slay that character outfitting haha

And I agree, the best thing with writing with you all have been the community and getting so much inspiration and gaining insights into writing and story and life and myself, and whatnot(It's so nice to see everyone come out of the woodwork to chime in <3)

and yeah, there is always the missed opportunities and unfinished stories due to all kinds of reasons but I still value those higher than what never happened to begin with!

Long story short, I appreciate you all and I'll stop now

I just meant to stop my rambling(: But I forget most of my ramling just occurs in my head and my reality check on how much rambling makes it out is not great. So no idea how much it actually translates to rambling (but I sure feel like I do haha)

Realistically, who would have time to do something light now, host or participate in? I'm going to be alone for a while in the next few weeks, so it made me wonder where's everyone at?

Well I had plans to fly to Ireland on Wednesday but those plans might get canceled since my grandma injured her. So I might be here or I might not be here

Schoggettchen Drink a pint of guinness for me!

NinaJones I would be intrigued to hear what kind of concept you had in mind, if you'd like to share!

Zaralee I'm about to restart my soul crushing past time of job hunting, so I could probably do good with some escapism and I feel like the worst of summers obligatory socialising and making the most of the weather has passed, so more of that time on hand too.

So I'm here as a writer at least. I'm not in the position to contribute hostwise, I might have a couple of things which I have tinkered with over the year when the fancy has struck but those do need more processing.

Okay so I don't have the processing power to do Moriarty at the moment but I could likely have something semi-soapy and fun up contest wise if there are some willing participants...

also NinaJones I'm super curious what kind of concept you have brewing too...

Dare and tricole

I love to share but cannot say exactly because need permission for some ideas I have... But I can say planning to do snippet kind of rounds (it is better to see an example than explain)and more interactive with extras (paper people)(Will be a little different then impression you would normally get but more on it, when I am done) as soon as I work it out, I will post more info on it here. with bullet points and all and of course a pre-round before we dive in it.

Dare Not planning to join anything at moment. Need to get my BS together first.

I'm happy to hear there's interest - I'm debating between something historical, like a Bridgerton-like season setting, or something heading more in the magical direction, maybe in a closed setting (not sure if this century or another one).

Both of those ideas sound like they could be fun and I definitely have a Bridgerton shaped hole in my heart since season 3 ended.

Do you have any idea when you'd be ready to open? I have something semi-soapy that's light and mostly fleshed out that can go up in a few days if you're still world building or I can gladly wait until your contest is posted and over /vendor/beemoov/forum/../../../public/forum/smilies/smile.png

I'm gone for a day and the two of you are half way to ready contests, colour me impressed!

DareWhat's the setting? Modern, period, reality, etc. And a few days as in this weekend or next week? (As in of course it can change but my brain just works better with an idea of what to expect.)

The wheels are spinning and I can't wait for those of you who are willing to join me in "Carrington's Cove", a not-so-serene, seaside village for a soap opera style romp. It'll be episodic, set in the present, and each of you will have your own bubble world. I'm working on the paper people and fleshing out the basic plotting but it should be good to go before the weekend is over (well at least before the weekend is over in the South Eastern United States)
